DIY - 10 Easy Steps to Change a Flat Tyre

http://www.shreenathhyundai.com/index.html

While almost every car manufacturer offers a 24X7 road-side assistance facility that you can use in case you get a flat tyre, it might be a good idea to know yourself, how to replace a flat tyre. If a tyre is flat, you can tell it through visual inspection while the car is parked. However, in case if it goes flat while driving, you would feel that the steering has become heavier to operate (in case it’s any of the front tyres) or the car might start pulling towards one direction in case the tyre at the rear is flat. You might also experience abnormal vibration depending upon the air that has already leaked through the tyre.

In case you experience any of the symptoms while driving, it’s important that you park the car immediately along the closest kerb and do an inspection. This would prevent damage to the tyre and wheel. A visual check and comparison would surely reveal if a tyre is flat or not.

After ascertaining that the tyre is flat, you can follow the steps below to change the flat tyre with the spare one.

Easy Steps to Change a Flat Tyre

    REMOVE THE FLAT TYRE
  • Mark sure that you park the car on a flat and levelled ground to prevent rolling. Also, ascertain that the ground is not soggy and is sufficiently hard. Jack deployed on a loose surface can cause the jack to sink under the weight of car.
  • Take out the wheel brace, jack, spare wheel and emergency kit. Deploy the supplied reflective triangle as a warning sign for oncoming traffic and ask the passengers to stay out of the vehicle before removing the flat tyre.
  • Apply parking brake and put the car in first or reverse gear. If the car has an automatic gearbox, keep the car in “Park” position with handbrakes on.
  • Use the wheel brace to loosen all the nuts in counter clockwise direction. Just loosen them enough and not all the way through. This necessarily needs to be done before putting the jack since the friction between the tyres and tarmac is necessary to loosen the nuts of the flat tyre.
  • Place the jack under the car body, near the tyre that you need to replace. Most manufacturers put a marking. If you can’t find that, put the jack in position where it looks secure and is perpendicular to the ground.
  • Raise the jack until it starts to touch the body and starts lifting the car.
  • Turn the nuts all the way through and remove them all. Subsequently remove the wheel and put it under the car body.

PUT THE NEW WHEEL IN PLACE

  • Put the new wheel in place along with nuts and tighten them all in crisscross fashion. Turn them gently using hands and wheel brace with just enough force to make them snug but not enough to upset the jack and car.
  • Lower the jack and remove it. Now tighten the nuts in crisscross fashion and secure the wheel firmly.
  • Note that it would take a lot of force to break the nuts free. Therefore, tighten all the nuts with all your might without worrying about damaging the nuts.

Hyundai Creta Petrol Automatic launched at INR 13.48 lakh

http://www.shreenathhyundai.com/index.html

Hyundai has officially launched the automatic variant of the petrol Creta. Dual airbags are now standard across the range.

If there was one chink in the Creta's armor, it had to be the lack of an automatic transmission with the petrol engine. Well, it seems like Hyundai has finally plugged that gap as well. Priced at INR 13.48 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), Hyundai dealerships are accepting bookings for the Creta petrol automatic.

Hyundai Creta Car

The automatic transmission will be available in the SX+ variant only, which is the one below the top-spec SX (O) variant. It will come fairly loaded with features such as alloy wheels, reverse parking sensors, projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, and push button start.

The 1.6 -litre, petrol engine develops a healthy 123PS of power and 151Nm of torque. we think it's a brilliant move from Hyundai. The only other petrol automatic compact SUV is the Ford EcoSport that is a full segment lower than the Creta. While the Duster gets an AMT with the diesel engine, the petrol continues to remain a manual only. Other rivals Car Companies do not have a petrol variant.

The Creta has been a runaway hit for Hyundai and has been consistently raking in high sales for the Korean auto giant. It also won the prestigious ICOTY (Indian Car of the Year) for 2016. While we get our hands on one, take a look at our detailed review of the Creta With the new variant in the line-up, we think the Creta is inching closer to its 'Perfect SUV' claim.

Essential Driver Safety Tips To Avoid Pedestrian Accidents

http://shreenathhyundai.com/

G one are the days when pedestrians walked on footpaths and the roads were for motorists. Thanks to the thousands of new cars being registered and increasing number of people crowding the cities, congestion has become a harsh reality and there is no dearth of people on the streets today.

Pedestrians often stray in the path of motorists and things can go from chaotic to dangerous in the blink of an eye. One must therefore be prepared for any eventuality and the following basic driver safety tips to avoid pedestrian accidents should help go a long way.

Car Driving Safety Tips

  • Awareness is the key and it all begins with knowing your vehicle. Most of the new cars these days come with disc brakes and ABS. These go a long way in reducing the stopping distance and ensuring steering control during a braking manoeuvre.
  • Out on the road, anticipation is the key. One of the top driver safety tips to avoid pedestrian accidents is by staying alert at all times. Pedestrians can pop in from anywhere and without warning. So be warned.
  • Slow down when going past a stopped bus, passengers are notorious for getting off and bolting across the road from the front.
  • A nod, headshake, potential distractors are all early warning indicators that a pedestrian could make a dash for it. Watch out for these.
  • Lunch times along with opening & shutting hours are when pedestrian traffic is high in work districts. So proceed with caution if you’re in such an area during that time.
  • Keep a watch for children around residential complexes. They have an uncanny knack of running across in the street chasing after a ball.
  • When driving after dark, ensure that the headlights are well-aligned and illuminate the road sufficiently. Re-align if it isn’t so.
  • Most pedestrians walk with the back to the traffic. So a short toot lets them know that there’s a motorist behind them.
  • Fitness awareness may be improving but not the infrastructure. So watch out for enthusiasts who may be jog right into your path in the wee hours of the morning.
  • Any place is a good place to cross for most pedestrians. So drive keeping the conditions in mind, not the performance of the car or your mood.
